Edward Everett Shapleigh III

April 28th 1953 - August 21 2025

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts to announce the passing of Edward as he passed away peacefully at his home and with his family by his side. Edward was 72 years old, born in Bangor, Maine, to Ed and Jane Shapleigh. Edward is survived by his loving wife Linda, his brother Jim and wife Judy, his three children Eddie, Jennifer and husband Shaun, Jamie and husband Dean, in addition to his two stepsons Chris, Brian and wife Traci and his 8 grandchildren Chad, Abree, Amelia, Nadia, Colette, Dylan, Dakota and Kaelyn and 1 great grandchild Brianna.

In early life, Edward grew up in a military family as his father was active in the Air Force, and lived in many various locations, fortunate to see many places around the world and shared so many stories during that time with his family later in life.

After high school graduation, Edward attended college at Western State University to graduate with his degree in science. He further joined the Navy as a corpsman / medic where he served 6 years collectively doing so. He went on to further his career in the aerospace industry for 30+ years, where he met the love of his life Linda and shared a wonderful marriage for 35 years.

Edwards hobbies and interests included being an avid sports fan loving the Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics and Washington Commanders. He also enjoyed building model airplanes and ships and loved collecting and working on classic cars as well as admiring various history related memorabilia.

Edward will be forever deeply missed and loved by all who knew him.
