It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Ofelia Martinez — a devoted mother, grandmother, and the heart of our family — who left this world on July 11, 2025, surrounded by those who loved her most.
A truly selfless woman, Ofelia lived her life with unwavering love and grace. She poured her heart into her family, especially her cherished grandchildren, and found immense joy in cooking meals that brought everyone together around the table. Her kitchen was the heart of the home, filled with the warmth of her food, her laughter, and her stories.
She was a lover of life’s simple and beautiful things — her thriving plants, her sewing projects made with care, and the adventures she shared while traveling with her family. Her kindness was felt by everyone she met. She had a gentle soul, an open heart, and a smile that made others feel at ease.
As the beloved matriarch of our family, she guided us with strength, wisdom, and unconditional love. Her absence leaves an ache in our hearts, but her memory, her love, and her legacy will live on in each of us.
She is survived by her loving children: Teresa, Jose Luis Jr., Jeanette, and Dario, who were her pride and joy; her cherished daughters-in-law, Karena and Guadalupe, and her son-in-law, Eduardo, whom she loved as her own; and her adored grandchildren: Katya, Alex, Kayla, Keanna, Isaac, Cesar, Jeanelly, Andrew, and Jacob — who brought her endless happiness. She also leaves behind extended family and dear friends, all of whom were touched by her kindness and warmth.
