Peter John DeJong, 54, passed away on December 26, 2025, in Wildomar, California, the community he called home for his entire life. Born in Riverside, California, Peter grew up surrounded by family, hard work, and the deep traditions of his family’s dairy, where he proudly became the third generation to carry on the legacy of DeJong’s Dairy.
Peter lived life with a spirit of adventure and a love for the outdoors. He found joy in snowboarding, motorcycle riding, hunting, fishing, and taking his razor out for a ride. Whether on a mountain, a trail, or simply spending time with those he cared about, Peter embraced every moment with enthusiasm and heart.
He is survived by his girlfriend, Heather Villalpando; his daughters, Courtney DeJong and Paris Dowty; and his cherished grandchildren, Johnny Berry and Marley Berry. He is also survived by his sisters, Dana DeJong and Holly Crocker, and his father, Herman DeJong, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles who loved him deeply.
Peter was preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn DeJong, and his son, Peter DeJong. Though he was taken far too soon, his family finds comfort in knowing he is no longer suffering.
A viewing will be held on January 15th from 4:00–8:00 PM at Miller Jones Mortuary in Sun City. Peter’s presence, laughter, and loyalty will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
