Agustina Valdez Fierro

Agustina lived in Marinette, Arizona for 13 years, and relocated to Merced, California, where she has resided for 71 years. She enjoyed being a homemaker in her home, and was a seasonal employee with Tri Valley Growers. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, and served as a PTA member. Agustina was a loving Wife, Mother, & Nana. She devoted her life to her family and she will forever be in our hearts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Merejildo and Agustina Garcia; daughter, Debra Fierro Moore; and siblings, Amparo Catalan, Raymond Garcia, Manuel Garcia, Merejildo Garcia, and Clara Onstead.

Agustina is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ernest Fierro; children, Richard Fierro, Robert Fierro, and Annie Fierro Weger and her husband Dennis; siblings, Rosalie Heafner, Lisa Asbury, Yolanda Ryan, and Adrian Hernandez; grandchildren, Kimi Rodriguez, Raymond and Vincent Morre, Atina Chavez, Michelle Little, Crisi Matthews, Robert Fierro and Jessica Fierro; great grandchildren, Faith, Benjamin, and Issac Rodriguez, Jasmine Barrigan, Jalen Rose Garces, Teryn White, Brittani Chavez, Anthony Souza, Darrin Chavez, Robert Little, Austin Ceccerelli, Christian, Caleb, and Caterina Matthews; and great great granddaughter, Jordynn Nicole Rose Hieber.

The family would like to thank Hinds Hospice, Atina Chavez, Michelle Little, Sandy Dickenson, Kimi Rodriguez, and Rosalie Heafner, for the loving care that they gave to our mother.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 22, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with the recitation of the rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, 1490 B Street, Merced. The Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 459 W. 21st Street, Merced. Burial will follow at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella, CA.
