Bridget Sandford

Bridget previously lived in New Jersey where she spent 26 years before moving to Merced, California where she was a resident for 27 years.

Bridget met her husband Richard while he was stationed in England, they fell in love and were married at ST. Joseph’s R.C. Church in Newbury U.K. in 1963.

Bridget was a homemaker for over 50 years as well as a victim’s voice advocate for crime victims. She was a very gentle and kind-hearted woman who loved her family beyond expression and was a good friend to all.

Bridget is preceded in death by her parents; William and Anne Heaney and her daughter; Jean Laura Sandford.

She is survived by her husband; Richard Sandford Sr., children; Anne Smallfence of Fresno, CA and Richard Sandford Jr. of Merced, CA, sister; Bernadette O’Donnell of England, nephew; Sean Early, grandchildren; Richard Sandford Ш, Clifford Smallfence Jr. and Lauren Evans.

The family would like to express many thanks to Bristol Hospice, especially Pat and Silvia for their wonderful support, as well as Dr. Amro and his nurse Brandy along with Dr. Mous and his nurse Veronica for their medical care provided.

A visitation will be held on Monday, May 16, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home located at 1490 B Street with a rosary at 6:00 p.m. Interment will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Evergreen Memorial Park located at 1480 B Street.
