With deep love and gratitude for a life well lived, we remember Clarence Kenneth Beale Sr., who was called home peacefully on March 1, 2026, at the age of 95, in the loving presence of his devoted wife, Julia.
Clarence was born in 1930 in Lexington, Virginia, to Ms. Lillie Beale. From an early age, he carried a strong sense of duty and quiet determination. He attended Rockbridge County High School before choosing to serve his country by joining the Army at a young age. After completing his service, Clarence continued his commitment to serving others by joining the Air Force, where he proudly and honorably served for 22 years before retiring.
After retiring from the military, when most people would be ready to sit back and relax, Clarence went back to school and earned an Associate of Arts degree from Merced Community College. He then went on to work at Rheem Manufacturing Company, where he continued working hard for another 20 years. That tells you something about him—it’s never too late to learn something new.
Clarence was a devoted and faithful member of the Church of Christ. His life was guided by faith, family, and simple joys. He loved worshipping, enjoying fried chicken, spending time with those he loved most, reading, and tinkering with anything he could take apart and put back together. He also enjoyed “people watching,” often quietly observing the world around him with thoughtful curiosity.
A naturally reserved man, Clarence did not speak often, but when he did, his words carried meaning. More often, his quiet responses—a gentle “uh huh,” a thoughtful “hmmm,” an “okay,” or simply a knowing nod—said more than words ever could. His presence brought comfort, steadiness, and wisdom to those around him.
Above all else, Clarence’s greatest love was his family, with his beloved Julia always at the center of his heart. His love for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was constant and unwavering, and he took great pride in watching his family grow through the generations.
Clarence leaves behind his loving wife, Julia Ann (Styles); Children - Debra Marzette of Atwater, Susan Scott of San Diego, Clarence Beale Jr. of Modesto, David Beale of Fresno, Julie Bennett of Roseville, and Stephanie Roby of Fresno. He was preceded in death by his children Robert Beale, Samuel Beale, and Stephen Beale.
He was also the proud grandfather of 10 grandchildren and the cherished great-grandfather of 7 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way, a blessing that continues the legacy of love he leaves behind.
Clarence was many things to many people—a faithful Brother in Christ, a devoted husband, a loving father, a proud grandfather and great-grandfather, and a cherished brother. His quiet strength, steady faith, and deep love for his family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in our hearts.
