David served in the Navy from 1977-1987, serving in the Gulf War. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Gary and Patsy Pruitt; and sister, Debra Gibbins.
He leaves behind his wife, Heidi Pruitt; children, Kayla, Nakita and David Jr.; grandchildren, Avery Pruitt, Logan and Sofia Ortiz; and siblings, Gary Pruitt, Donna Shearer and Robin Gilbert.
A visitation will be held at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, 1490 B St., Merced, CA 95341 on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 from 4:00pm-7:00pm. Graveside services will be held at Merced District Cemetery, 1300 B St., Merced, CA 95341 on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 2:00pm.
