Delores Pettit died peacefully at her home in Merced, California on March 20, 2016. She was 68. She was born in Waterloo, Iowa on July 26,1947 and lived in the Merced area with her husband, Leo, for over 40 years. Her life's work was helping people, first as a nurse and later in children's services and the women's shelter.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Denise and Ed, Janet and Wayne, and Randy and Karen; sister, Sandy and brother, Gordon; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Leo Pettit.
A memorial will be held at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home in Merced on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Dee's life. A reception will follow.
