

Felix J. Masasso, 89, passed away Monday evening. Felix was a lifelong resident of Merced, attending local schools and graduating from Merced High School (East Campus) in 1944. Upon completion of High School, Felix enlisted in the Navy serving 2 years of duty to the conclusion of WWII.
Returning home to Merced, Felix worked his family’s ranch and was employed at John Roth Chevrolet. In 1952, Felix met and married Imogene Vincent. Felix and Imogene “Gene” had two sons Ken and Rob, they raised their family and were married for 57 wonderful years.
In 1964 Felix went to work for the Merced Union High School District, retiring from the school district in 1990. In retirement Felix and Imogene enjoyed traveling, spending time at South Lake Tahoe, Carson Valley, Monterey and Carmel, California.
Felix is preceded in death by his parents, and loving wife Imogene who passed away in 2009.
Felix is survived by his 2 sons, Ken and Rob; 3 grandchildren, Sabastian, Matthew and Alexis; his home care giver, Brenda, who provided great care for Felix the final year and a half of his life.
A visitation will be held at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home located at 1490 B Street, Merced, California 95340 on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 from 9:00 am-10:00 am with funeral services beginning at 10:00 am. A graveside service with full military honors will follow directly after services starting at 11:00 am at Evergreen Memorial Park located at 1480 B Street in Merced.
