

George was a life-long resident of Snelling, California and graduated from local schools. After graduation, George enlisted in the United States Army Air Corp and served during the European Theater of WWII. He was a gunner on a B24. After his military service, George began working for the Merced County Fire Department and retired as the Merced County District Fire Chief. George also served his community and was a Volunteer Docent at the Castle Air Museum in Merced and was a member of the Merced Elks Lodge #1240 B.P.O.E. for seventy years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Harriet Naumann; wife, Nadine Roberta Naumann; brother, Charles Naumann and sisters, Theodora Weston and Winibelle Herring Ellis.
He is survived by his children, Richard Naumann and wife Barbara of Murphys, California and Catherine Dunn of Hayward, California; granddaughter, Stacy Lozano; and great grandchildren, Leah Lozano, Grace Lozano and Matthew Rodriguez.
Graveside services will be held on Sunday, August 31, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at Snelling Cemetery in Snelling, California.
