Jose Luis Sanchez

“EL CALIS”

Jose Luis Sanchez (El Calis) was born in Sahuayo Michoacán, MX on June 19, 1945 and passed away in Merced, CA on August 26, 2012 at the age of 67.

Jose worked for Rogers Foods in the onion and garlic processing department for 15 years. He was a hard worker who loved the outdoors and his family. One of his hobbies was going to Casinos. He was very sociable and was able to make anyone laugh.

Anyone who has ever tasted Jose’s food knows what a great cook he was. He will be forever missed and loved.

Jose was preceded in death by his parents, Alberto Sanchez and Maria Guadalupe Sanchez de Higareda.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Guadalupe Sanchez; daughters, Patricia and Lucila Sanchez; grandchildren, Monica, Jose Luis and Nancy Sanchez; brothers, Alberto, Bernardo, Rogelio and Javier Sanchez; and sisters, Maria, Alicia, Guadalupe and Celina Sanchez.

Visitation will be held at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, 1490 B St., Merced, CA 95340 on Thursday, Augusts 30, 2012 from 6:00pm-8:00pm with Recitation of the Rosary to be held at 7:00pm. Mass of Christian burial will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 519 W. 12th St., Merced, CA on Friday, August 31, 2012 at 10:00am with interment to follow at Merced District Cemetery.
