Lucille Gertrude Bacon Stone was born in Tempe, AZ. She was raised in Globe, AZ and attended Northern Arizona University.
She was married during WWII to Floyd A. Stone Jr. “Stoney” and lived in Seligman, AZ until they purchased the Tortilla and Reevis Ranches.
Lucille’s volunteer work included Membership and Presidency of Arizona Mahannah Club; Cowbelles (now the Arizona Cattlewomen’s Association); 50+ year member of The Order of the Eastern Star; and served as President of the National Cattlewomen’s Association in 1977.
Lucille moved to Merced, CA in 1979 where she was a real estate agent before becoming General Manager of Evergreen Memorial Park. Shortly after retiring she moved to Stockton where she volunteered at the American Cancer Society Discover Shop.
Lucille lived a full and active life and ever sought to expand her knowledge of this world and its peoples. Those privileged to know her, knew a gifted, vibrant, witty, loving, caring person. She will be profoundly missed by her family and friends.
Services will be held at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, 1490 B St., Merced, CA on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 11:00am.
