June 11, 1963 – August 8, 2025
Atwater, California
With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Lue Her, who entered eternal rest on August 8, 2025, at the age of 62.
Born in Laos on June 11, 1963, and arriving in Merced, California in March of 1982, Lue lived a life rooted in faith, humility, and quiet strength. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a steadfast man of God. For those who knew him, Lue was the kind of person whose presence spoke volumes — not through many words, but through unwavering love, gentle leadership, and quiet acts of generosity.
Lue is survived by his loving wife, Joua Moua, five sons and four daughters-in-laws, Tou Her and Chee Yang, Seng Her and Yua Moua, Fong Her and Maiteng Moua, Pheng Her and Tiffany Yang, and Kou Her; three daughters and three sons-in-laws, Xay Her and Nyie Xiong, Mouagaolee Her and Paul Lee, and Mee Her and Drew Vue, and twenty beloved grandchildren, all of whom were the center of his world. His legacy lives on through the family he nurtured, protected, and guided with compassion and devotion. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
For over 28 years, Lue worked at Scholle Corporation, where he was respected for his dedication, reliability, and integrity. But beyond his work, his true passion was serving and providing for those around him. He opened his heart and home to many — even welcoming a stranger in need into his household — a living example of his faith in action.
He loved to cook, especially laab, his favorite dish, often prepared with care and shared during joyful family gatherings. His sense of humor, gentle wisdom, and warm spirit brought light into every room. His final words, “sib hlub, txhaj zoo” — a heartfelt proverb meaning “when there is love, there is peace” — serve as a lasting testament to the life he lived and the values he imparted to his family and community.
Funeral services to honor Lue’s life were held from September 20 to 22, 2025, surrounded by family, friends, and the community who loved him.
Though he is no longer with us, the strength of his love, the clarity of his faith, and the example of his life will continue to guide and inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
