Bernardino Margarito Rodriguez-Castro was born June 12, 1923 in Aguanato, Michoacán, Mexico and passed away on January 21, 2012 in Merced, CA.
Bernardino had a love of music and learned to play the “Vihuela” and joined the Mariachi. He traveled throughout his beloved Mexico playing the music he loved and also would serenade the love of his life, Maria Elena. Apart from his music, he loved tending to his vegetable garden and raising chickens.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 51 years, Maria Elena; sons, Arturo, Ruben, Bernardo, Juan, & Fernando; daughters, Maricela, Leticia, & Maria; 4 brothers; 2 sisters; 29 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Thursday, January 26, 2012 from 3:00PM-7:30PM with recitation of the Rosary at 6:00PM at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home. Services will be held on Friday, January 27, 2012 at 10:00AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 519 W. 12th St., Merced, CA. with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
