Michael Gene Young

Michael is survived by his wife of 50 years Flerinda Young, one sister Pamela Maurer, one daughter Cherina Rhein, one son Jeffrey (Michelle) Young, six grandchildren Nolan (Stephanie), Sorsha, Peyton, Ceri, Rhett and Garrick and one great granddaughter Ninalynn, his second great granddaughter Anne is due in July.

Michael was born in Dos Palos, California to parents Bobby and Shirley Young in 1952 and was the oldest of 7 children.

Michael (Mike) met his wife Flerinda (Flynn) when they were young teenagers in Los Banos and married in August 1971. During the early years of marriage they lived in Winton and Gilroy before settling in Los Banos in 1986. Mike worked as a diesel tractor mechanic for B&T Farms in Gilroy until his retirement in 2020.

Mike enjoyed antique shopping and collected antique pocket watches, cigarette lighters, clocks, pedal cars and metal toy trucks. He spent countless hours restoring many of these items as a hobby.

Before becoming sick Mike enjoyed riding his Harley and would often take long rides on the weekends with his wife and friends.
