This is harder than I ever thought it could be…  we had the most crazy  talks about tv,love and life.  No one can treasure that more than me. I remember you said that you always looked up to us at grandma’s house. I never understood the significants of that till you were with us no more.  I’m so sorry if you ever felt let down… but today NO more!  RIP Primo… the only Primo you will ever be to me… you made it into the Rodriguez bubble… you surely did!!!

I don’t think I will keep it together enough to speak at the services today. But here is what I have to say. 

I was married to Pedro for almost thirteen years and we have three amazing children plus a newborn grand baby. He was an artist, reader, loved music, and always had jokes. Some were hilariously inappropriate and others were just bad dad jokes.  But he always brought laughter to anyone he was around. 

As parents we were polar opposites. I pushed the sports and competition. While he pushed the thesaurus (literally). He succeeded in making sure our kid’s minds were open beyond the standards and that they have extensive vocabularies and use words/literary phrases in the correct context. This is evident when they speak on purpose, but like their daddy, they joke around about everything on the surface. 

I would never have imagined the love and support my friends have shown us during this difficult time. When times are tough, people tend to be more of who they truly are, they either show up or they don’t. And I really appreciate his huge family for helping my kids deal with this difficult situation and for just being there for them. I am so grateful for his parents, four sisters and brother. They have been rock solid for my kids and I will forever be grateful. 

All I can promise is that I will continue to take care of our kids and newborn grand baby the best I can.

Petey, as he was affectionately known by his aunt and uncles was the first nephew born into our family. At a very early age we all knew that he was going to be an additional force to be reckon and well received by his uncles. He showed great respect for his elders, humbleness and kindness, slow to anger, love for animals, love and patience to his cousins that came afterwards, and the quality that we all had that he was blessed with was the ability to be humorous and story telling. This he polished by always wanting to be around his uncles that would laughter to all who were around. Now he has been united with his uncle in heaven and Grandpa is probably feeling like he will be targeted. What I'm left are memories that I can only recall when I close my eyes but are interrupted by tears that have evaded my grieving face. Love you mijo. Rest in peace. Uncle Raymond Padilla
