Robert Walter Ridge

Robert (Bob) Ridge, youngest son of Harold and Margaret Ridge, deceased, passed away suddenly Saturday morning. He was the owner of UEP Video Merced. Bob was born in Merced and attended local schools. He was hired by Goodyear Tire Co. to train as a manager. They sent him to Fresno to open their new store at Fashion Fair. He then became a sales rep for the Hormel Meat Co. After training, he was sent to Reno to head that office. Years later, he decided to return to Merced. Upon his return, he worked for Merced Power Sport until purchasing the Video store. He was noted for his love of automobiles. He usually owned two even though he could only drive one at a time. He had a close relationship with his customers and knew most by their first name. He is survived by his two brothers; Russell Ridge and his family; wife Marge, children Lisa, Reed, and Rolf of Inverness and Allen Ridge and his family, wife Tonie, children Mark, and Bruce Ridge of Merced.

A memorial service will be held at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 19 at 11:00am.

A reception will follow.
