Roger was truly loved by his children. His daughter Rogetta was my best friend in high school and beyond and i know the love that she shared with her dad. He was a giant of a man to me as a kid and that never seemed to change, but along with that he was funny and warm and always made me feel like family. You wont be forgotten because of the many lives you touched. Rest in peace.

Roger was my brother-in-law. I have not seen him in many years, but he was always in my heart. He treated me and my siblings as if we were his own. When our father passed away, he flew in to IN to give us comfort. He will always remain a good memory, and someday we will be able to comfort each other again.   Carolyn (Mayes) Nabours

Daddy, it has been 2 months now since you left us and I miss you so much.  I miss your laugh, I miss your smile, oh daddy how I miss you.  I'll always love you daddy and will always be your baby girl.

My fondest memory of all time was dancing to Grateful Dead music with Roger one evening many years ago. First and last time I ever saw him dance but we had so much fun that night it's been in the memory bank ever since. I will miss him very much.

Roger you will be so sadly missed.  I have had the honor of having Roger as my step-father for nearly half of my life.  The most I will always take with me in my memories of Roger is how big of a heart he had.  For an example, when he was a conductor for Amtrak, every year at Christmas he would spend a month wrapping gifts for kids.  Then when he had to work he would dress up as Santa and pass out gifts to all the kids on the train.

He also, once retired, volunteered at the hospital in Monterey and became in charge of the candy strippers.  He was just that charitable and loving.

On behave of my family Roger, we will miss you.

Roger will be sadly missed as I have had the honor of him as my step-father for almost half my life. I have wonderful childhood  memories of my Uncle Roger.  He moved to California when I was young so our time together was limited.  I remember him as a very good natured warm hearted man who was fun to be around.  He was next in birth order behind my dad and I always felt they had a great brother relationship.
