Known by all as a man of selfless service to his community and family, he died February 25, 2010 at Methodist University
Hospital in Memphis after an extended illness. Mr. Rose was a supervisor for E-911 of Lauderdale county. During his life
he was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the US NAVY, patrolman for the Meridian Police Dept. and a business owner for more
than 25 years. Honored as a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 21, he held various offices at local, state and
regional levels in the American Legion. After serving many years as Deb Dad for Deb's social club, Mr. Rose was honored
as a lifetime Dad for the organization. He was a 1966 graduate of MHS and attended MCC. and a member of Central United
Methodist Church. Mr. Rose will be remembered as a devoted family man, a loving husband and father and "Poppy" to his
adoring grandchildren. He led by example and leaves a legacy of love and unselfish devotion and service to his God, his
family, his country and his community.
Survivors include his wife Melinda Campbell Rose of Meridian, children Elizabeth Rose Domas and husband Dr. Matthew
Domas of Memphis, Lyle Campbell Rose and wife Michelle of Hattiesburg, Amy Rose Trout and husband Robert of Meridian.
Grandchildren Allison Rose Trout, Joseph Alan Trout,Sophia Rene' Rose, Nolan Campbell Domas, Anna-Caroline Maillet
Domas. Sisters Carolyn Beckham and husband Lanny of Meridian, Joyce Briggs and husband Rabon of Meridian, Step Sisters
Oleta Bracken and husband Doug of Meridian, Edith Campbell Broome and husband Horace of Meridian. Sisters in law
Ann C. Mitchell and husband Dee of Baton Rouge, LA. Nita C. Fuller and husband Leonard of Gautier, Jennie C. Rivet of
Cumming, GA. and Jan Campbell of Hattiesburg and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Rose was preceded in death by
his Father Bennie C. Rose, Mother Edna J. Currie, Step Father Mack Currie, Father in law Peter Lowery Campbell Sr. and
brother in law Peter Lowery Campbell Jr. Pallbearers are Ricky Roberts, Jeff Lewis, Van Lewis, Jerry Jordan, John Mott
and Greg Thompson. Honorary Meridian Police Dept., Lauderdale County Sheriff Dept and E-911 Dispatch. Visitation will
be held Sunday 5 to 8pm at Stephens Funeral Home.
