Mr. Spence, 55, passed away on March 25 at his residence.
Mr. Spence will be remembered as a kind and loving man who enjoyed his grandchildren, holidays, and taking care of his wife, Cathy. He loved science and factual programs and had recently taken up golf. Doug was also one to count his blessings, and recognized each day was another day he had beaten Parkinson’s. One of the greatest attributes of his character was that he was very careful to think before speaking.
Doug will be deeply missed by his wife, Cathy; his sons, Doug Spence, Jr. and Will Spence; step-son, Adam Pickles; dad, Willie (Hazel) Spence; brothers, Glenn (Dialynn) Spence, Chuck Spence, and sister, Debbie Spence; his granddaughters, Isabelle Grace and Sophia Rose Pickles. He will also be missed by his furry friends, Bovril, Bistro, and Bo, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, special friends, and all of his in-laws.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Ann Yarbrough.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. prior to the service.
