Nina Jean Bowers

Mrs. Bowers was a faithful member of Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church for 60 years and a member of the Lydia Sunday School Class. She worked in the automobile business with her late husband “Shorty” and was the general manager and bookkeeper for Travel Inn Motel for 20 years until her retirement.

Mrs. Bowers was preceded in death by her late husband, H.M. “Shorty” Bowers; her father, Willie Earl Mosley; her mother, Ida Mae Mosley and her sister Dorothy McDonald.

She leaves a legacy of a large family and will be greatly missed by her children Milton Earl Bowers, and wife Faye; Sidney Carroll Bowers, and wife Lynn, all of Meridian; Debbie Bowers Cran, and husband Rudy of San Antonio, Texas; her sister Doris Christian of Jackson, Mississippi and her nieces Martha and Pam McDonald of Niceville, Flordia; Linda Davis and her husband, Kirk of Tampa, Florida; Laurie Braun and husband, John of Jackson, Mississippi; and nephew Cal Christian and wife Kay of Greenville, North Carolina; her grandchildren Terri Broussard, and husband Scott, Robin Franklin and husband Chuck and Rhonda Armbruster, all of Houston, Texas; Mitch Bowers and wife Melinda, Chris Bowers and wife Jenny, Steven Bowers and wife Kim, all of Meridian; Tammy Wildman and husband Greg of Spring, Texas; Chuck Wall and wife Kristy of Houston, Texas; Gene Cran and wife Kim of Corpus Christi, Texas; and Dr. Karisha Madden and husband Rory of Houston, Texas.

Mrs. Bowers was blessed with 18 great-grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She will be dearly missed by them all and leaves a lifetime of memories that will never be forgotten.

Services for Mrs. Jean Bowers will be held Sunday afternoon, March 25th at 2:00 p.m. at Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church with Rev. James Ruffin and Rev. John Temple officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Magnolia Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, March 24th at Stephens Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Chris Bowers, Mitch Bowers, Chuck Wall, Gene Cran, Steven Bowers and Blake Wildman.
