Sarah Lou Walters Barham, lifelong resident of Meridian, MS, left behind her earthly tent and died peacefully on May 6, 2015, ten days before her 94th birthday. Her family rejoices that she has received her gift of eternal life from the Lord Jesus.
Her dying body was “swallowed up by everlasting life. We know these things are true by believing, not by seeing.” She was quite content to die because she knew she would be “at home with the Lord.”
(2 Corinthians 5)
During her professional career as an X-ray Technician and later as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), she found satisfaction in being of service to patients in her care.
She is survived by her two children, Rita Barham Taubman of Melbourne, FL, and Jerry Wayne Barham, of Brandon, MS, her sister, Lois Hagen of Lancaster, CA, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, C. A. Walters, Jr., and her sister, Doris Birdsong, of Meridian.
A visitation is planned at Stephens Funeral Home, Monday, May 11, at 9:30 a.m., followed by a graveside service at Magnolia Cemetery at 11:00 a. m.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Poplar Springs Nursing Center for the loving care each one has given to her over the years. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to: Samaritan's Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607, 828.262.1980.
