December 16th 1924 ~ February 13th 2020
Jim was one of 16 children born and raised on a farm in Haghue SK to Peter Hamm and Margaret
Janzen.
In 1948 he met and fell in love with his beautiful wife Jeannine St Jean. Over the years they moved multiple times between Ontario and BC where they raised their seven children. Jim truly enjoyed providing for his family, proven in his dedicated hard work in many different professions. Over the years this included, but is not limited to, farming, logging, mining and managing a sanitary landfill.
When Jim was not working, he and Jeannine loved to create and design greenware ceramics. He also enjoyed recycling, gardening and baking. He was always out hunting and harvesting fir trees to keep his home toasty warm.
In 1979 they planted their roots in Lower Nicola BC where they continually opened their hearts and home to friends and family alike.
In 1982 they completed their family when they adopted their eighth child Tyrone, who was born to their youngest son Allen.
Jim passed away peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by loved ones, just after 3 am on February 13.
Predeceased by his mother, father, all siblings and his third born son Bobby.
Survived by his loving wife Jeannine Hamm, Claire (Rick), Dennis (Kathy), George, Marcel, Allen (Vickie), Kathy (Tracy), Tyrone (Virginia), 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and loved ones.
The family would like to thank the Nicola Valley General Hospital, Dr Simpson, Dr Goetz and the entire medical staff that kept him comfortable in his final days. Thank you to Dr. Vander Merwe for the excellent care over the years.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to a lung cancer foundation in memory of Cornelius (Jim) Hamm.
