October 7, 1948 to August 30, 2025
With heavy hearts but full memories, we announce the passing of our beloved mom and grandma, Dona
Moses, on August 30, 2025. Dona was kind, friendly, and happiest when surrounded by family, proudly following every adventure of her children and grandchildren.
She is reunited with her beloved husband Jon, and we like to imagine the two of them already catching up, laughing, and keeping an eye on us from their favorite porch swing in the sky—alongside her parents Henry and Stella, and siblings Dean and Kathy, no doubt letting her boss them around once again.
Born and raised in Merritt, many will remember Dona from the Big AA Market in the 70’s and 80’s, where lifelong friendships and great memories were made. She later left Merritt to explore new opportunities
and passions before eventually returning home.
From a young age, Dona faced medical challenges with remarkable courage, always meeting them with positivity, determination, and a fighter’s spirit. She carried that strength right through to the very end.
Forever loved and deeply missed by her children Laine (Tammy) and Shantel (Rick); stepchildren Dale (Denise) and Darcy (Bev); grandchildren Brayden (Chelsea), Jared, Jorja (Brendan), and Karma; step-grandchildren Clayton, Jake, Branden, and Jem; siblings Barb, Judy, Marlien, Henry (Marlene), Dan, and Archie; and by countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A small celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
“She leaves us with laughter in our hearts, stories on our lips,
and the reminder to always find joy in the little things.”
