The family of Terence "Terry" Snowden is sad to announce he has departed on his last fishing trip.
Left on shore is Nancy, love of his life and wife of 47 years, his daughters Shahna (Jeremy), Taryn (Jon), Katie (Jordan), and Gloria (Dave), 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, as well as 5 younger siblings, Jim(Diane), Doreen (Reg) Judy (John), Joe (Vicki-Lee) and Lauriel (Shawn).
Born and raised in Chilliwack, BC to Art and Val Snowden, Terry was the oldest of 7 children. He is predeceased by both parents and his brother David.
Terry eventually ended up in Hinton, AB with Nancy. They married and raised their family while he worked a long career at Cardinal River Coals as an equipment operator and served as Vice President for the UMWA Local 1656. Over the 30+ years in Hinton, their home was open to a couple of bonus daughters - niece Tracy, and chosen daughter Megan.
Retirement brought a move back to BC, this time in Merritt where everyone was always welcome for a visit. Many long time friends stopped in for a fishing trip or a coffee and a story.
Dad will be remembered for his great love of fishing, 60's and 70's rock (especially the Beatles), Stephen King books, baseball
caps and funny t-shirts and his photography hobby. His family and friends will carry on his legacy of love, kindness, and humor. He never met a stranger and everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him walked away a little better because of him.
Because of the great impact Terry had in his life, we have chosen to have two celebrations of life. The first will be held August 29 at 1:00pm at Camp River Hall in Chilliwack, BC. The second will be held September 12 at 1:00pm at the Royal Canadian Legion in Hinton, AB. Everyone is welcome to join us at one or both.
