Carol was born in Coral Gables, Florida Aug. 28, 1942. She was the only child of Madeline and Carl Eberts, Jr. and the only grandchild of Emma and Carl Eberts, Sr. and maternal grandfather Frank Evel. Carol grew up in Ft. Lauderdale, Jacksonville and Bradenton as her father was transferred with Florida National Bank. She graduated from FSU with a degree in nursing. She married Gordon Morey of Homestead and moved to Suwannee, Tennessee where she worked to put her husband through seminary. They lived in Ft. Lauderdale and Coral Springs where Gordon was pastor at the Episcopal churches there. They lived for a time in Wisconsin and Carol eventually came with her children, David and Jeannie, back to Florida in Palm Bay to start a life on her own.
In Palm Bay, Carol earned the love and respect of her fellow nurses and doctors at Holmes Regional hospital where she worked for the next twelve years. She was an active member of the Church of Our Savior and still has many Episcopalian friends in the Palm Bay community.
In 1992 she married Don Weber and moved to Merritt Island. She left Holmes Regional and went into home nursing because she wanted to have her weekends free to square dance. She and Don were avid square dancers and danced several nights a week with different square dance clubs in Central Florida. She was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church where she served on the Staff-Parish Relations committee. Carol worked every Saturday morning at the church helping Don take care of the rose and flower gardens.
Carol was a people person. When she asked you about your health she really wanted to know. She remembered your ailments; your doctors, and what medicines you were on and people loved her for it.
She leaves behind her husband Don and his three children Douglas, Katrina and Lacinda; her two children David and Jeannie, two grandchildren Alec and Adam Morey, a countless number of friends in the medical profession, her Christian friends from the Church of Our Savior and Grace Methodist and dozens of Square Dance friends who miss her smiling face and cheerful laughter.
Calling hours will be Noon-1PM followed by a funeral service at 1PM on Monday, January 20, 2014 at Grace United Methodist Church. Carol will be interred at Florida Memorial Gardens.
