The daughter of Edward and Ethel Grimes of Hendersonville, NC, Gail married her high school sweetheart, Ed Morgan, in 1953 and proceeded to live the ultimate adventure with the love of her life. While Ed was finishing his second degree at the University of Tennessee, she worked as an X-Ray technician at Baptist Hospital in Knoxville. Ed and Gail had two children, Michael and Kelly, and the young family moved to Merritt Island, Florida in the early days of the space race. When the children were in their teens, Gail went back to school and earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from what was then known as Florida Technological University (now UCF).
Gail will be remembered by her family as creative, intelligent, inquisitive, strong-willed, and a lover of animals. She is survived by son Mike, daughter-in-law Jody, granddaughters Katy Beth and Amanda, daughter Kelly, son-in-law Dan, and grandsons Kyle and Mack.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in memory of Gail to the Brevard Humane Society, 1020 Cox Road, Cocoa, FL 32966.
