Helen Marguerite Peterson Dixon, 87, died Saturday Dec 14, 2013 at her home.
Services are 1pm on Thursday, December 19th, at First Baptist Church, Cocoa FL.
Interment is at Florida Memorial Garden cemetery. Mrs. Dixon was a long time
resident of the Cocoa area, and she was an active volunteer for several years
with the Meals on Wheels program, served as church hostess, and was instrumental
on many committees over the years. Mrs. Dixon was born in New London, CT,
graduated from Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in 1947, and worked as a
registered nurse in NY and MS. She was a devoted wife and mother.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents John Peterson and Emma Peterson,
and by her husband of 56 years, John C. Dixon. Survivors include three daughters,
Susan Wilemon of Cocoa and Dawn Hawn (husband, Scott) of Cocoa, and
Pamela Bullard (husband, Dan) of Hattiesburg, MS; two sons, John R. Dixon
(wife, Cheryl) of Louisville, KY and Chief James C. Dixon (wife, Janice), USN of
San Diego, CA; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation is at noon on Thursday at First Baptist Church, Cocoa preceding service.
