Michael A. Cicerrella, 76, of Cocoa Fl, peacefully passed away on Friday, May 17, 2019. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Gayle, mother Mary (96), daughter Mary Proctor, brother Charles (Loretta), sister-in-law Anna Mary, son John Pyrtle (Karen), grandchildren Anthony Proctor, Sidney Stewart (Woody), Tony Organski, great grandchildren Little Ray of Sunshine, Rayleigh Proctor and Mason Stewart, and honorary grandchildren Kayla and Luci Painter,
Clinton and Marina Gifford.
He was preceded in death by his father Michael C. Cicerrella, brother, Carl Cicerrella
and his precious great granddaughter Kolby.
Mike was born in Lorain Ohio on February 28, 1943. As a young man he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 7 years. He moved to Florida in 1964 stationed at Patrick Air Force Base. He met Gayle in 1967 and remained a Brevard County resident. He was manager of Brevard County Parks and Recreation maintenance, manager of golf course operations for Brevard County Parks and Recreation, retiring in 1998. He was a member of the Brevard County Personnel Council, a member of the City of Cocoa Code Board, the American Legion, VFW, the Savannah’s Golf Association, and for 33 years, a member of UCF Golf Association. Mike volunteered for many years for the Cocoa High Marching Band and became a surrogate grandpa to many CHS kids. He sponsored scholarships for Cocoa High Band students. He was an avid golfer, loved to bowl and spend time with his family.
Mike was known throughout the county as a hard working man with a big heart who loved his family dearly.
He will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers donations to Cocoa High Marching Band, Cocoa High Chorus, or Wuesthoff Hospice House would be greatly appreciated.
