Born in Trenton, FL on March 21, 1949 to R.E. and Ethel (Floyd) Philman, Percy Eugene Philman met Diane Hanson in the US Navy and they married in Beloit, WI on April 22, 1972. Percy graduated from UCF and later worked for Rinker Materials/CEMEX for 38 years.
Percy passed away at 11:08pm on October 29, 2016 after a short bout with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Diane; his son, Matthew Philman, of Rockledge, FL; his daughter, Megan (Brandon) Pace of Melbourne, FL; his grandchildren, Kaiden Philman, Kerrigan Philman, and Brynlee Pace; and his sister, Lillie (Joe) Sams of Greenville, TN.
Percy was active his entire life in sports such as racquetball, handball, BMX, and cycling. He also shared a passion for motorcycles with his wife and two children. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Services will be held on Friday, November 4, 2016 at 6:00pm at the Wylie-Baxter Merritt Island Funeral Home with visitation 5:00-6:00pm.
