Beloved husband, father, and grandfather Raymond Diaz, 80, passed away March 9th, 2026, at home in Viera, FL surrounded by family and friends. He was a 26 year veteran of the Florida Army National Guard.
Raymond was well known for his positivity, passionate about volunteering in his local community at the Sunflower House through Aging Matters In Brevard and Christ Episcopal Church. He was an avid tinkerer, handy with tools, and experienced and educated in mechanical components. He could regularly be found helping others through repairs of wheelchairs, walkers, watches, clocks, and other everyday necessities. Raymond enjoyed a life-long passion for model trains, fine Cuban coffee, trivia, and a stranger was simply a friend he hadn’t met yet.
Raymond is survived by his wife and best friend of 43 years, B. Jean Diaz, his children Matthew, Kirsten, Nathan, Mark, and Emily, and grandchildren Matthew, Cyrus, Nicolas, Mikayla, Madison, and Maxwell.
The Diaz family extends their warmest thanks to Saint Francis Hospice, the care teams at Health First Viera Hospital, the Christ Episcopal Church family, friends and neighbors of the Brennity community, and his friends and fellow model train enthusiasts at the Titusville Area Model Railroad Club.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Christ Episcopal Church on Saturday, March 21st at 2:00pm, 190 Interlachen Road, Melbourne, FL 32940. The family encourages those attending to dress with joy in spring colors to honor Raymond’s unfailing optimism and positivity in this life and the next.
In lieu of flowers, the Diaz Family requests donations in Raymond’s memory to Aging Matters In Brevard (https://agingmattersbrevard.org) or Christ Episcopal Church (https://www.cecsuntreeviera.org/give).
