

William F. Langan III, Merritt Island, Fla., who died May 5, was born in Scranton, Pa. on March 27,1946. He graduated St. Ann’s High School in Scranton in 1963 and the University of Scranton in 1967 with a B.S. degree in Business Management and completed courses at the graduate level in Public Administration at the Capital Campus of Penn State University. Mr Langan was a U.S. Army veteran having served on active duty from January of 1968 to December 1969 and then in the Reserves until 1981 separating as a Senior Personnel Sergeant (E7).
Mr. Langan was a 30+ year resident of East Pennsboro Township, Pa.
Mr. Langan was employed by the Pa. Department of Transportation in the District 8 and Central offices for over 30 years as a budget analyst and a personnel analyst. He also served as an Emergency Liaison Preparedness Officer coordinating the dept.’s efforts with the Pa. Emergency Management Agency during weather and civil related emergencies.
He was a coach, referee and league commissioner for the EPLW youth soccer association. He also served as a coach for the Wormleysburg, Lemoyne youth baseball association.
William Langan Was a 13-year resident of Merritt Island and was a board member and treasurer of the River Grove on the Trail Home Owners Association.
Survivors include his loving wife of 46 Years, Marcia (Mozeleski) Langan; sons, William IV (Tai Lei Somoskey) Jupiter, Fla.; Robert (Heather Stone), Red Bank, N.J.; grandsons, William V (Cinco) and Holden Mitchell Langan; sisters, Joan Ashton, Fayetteville, N.C.; and Louise Langan, Scranton, Pa.; and wonderful nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
A funeral Mass will be held Monday, May 11, 2015, 1 p.m. at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 1940 N. Courtenay Pkwy., Merritt Island, FL 32953. He will be laid to rest at a later date at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. Bill requested no flowers. Instead please consider a donation to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
