She was born in Augusta, Georgia on October 7, 1944.
Roxey graduated from North Augusta High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Therapy with a Minor in Music from Eastern New Mexico University.
She was married to Hal Denison on August 7, 1965 in Roswell, New Mexico.
Roxey was a homemaker until her children left for college, then worked as a dental assistant for several years, before finishing her career as a first grade teacher for Gateway Christian Schools in Roswell.
She was a strong woman of faith and was a member of many churches in her lifetime, with her last membership at Maricopa Community Church in Maricopa, AZ. She had a passion for her family, the Word of God, serving others, and was a very active runner for much of her life.
She is survived by Hal Denison, her husband of nearly 57 years. Daughter, Debbie Hendricks of Denver, CO, Son Scott Denison and Daughter-in-law, Shannon Denison of Gilbert, AZ and Cousin Rich Long of North Augusta, GA.
Services will be held privately by family.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to Hospice of the Valley Arizona.
