They raised five children, Ken (Josie), Cathy, Laura (Carlton), Suzanne, and Gary (Tammy). They moved their family to Arizona in 1970 and started a real estate business specializing in Property Management.
The family spent time camping, playing sports and traveling. She was always the keeper of family history and memories through her collection of scrapbooks. She liked reading and volunteered at the Queen Creek Library for nearly 20 years. She always enjoyed attending the kid’s baseball games while they were growing up and watched many Diamondback games. She liked watching the black and white oldies on TV with “Gone With The Wind” being her favorite. Ever since Barbara's husband of nearly 60 years passed away in 2014, she lived with family.
Barbara now has 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards (Old Maid with the great-grandchildren) and working on jigsaw puzzles. She enjoyed weekly family dinner nights where her grandchildren and their families all gather for great conversation and a home-cooked meal. She always offered to dust, sweep, dry dishes, and hang clothes. She liked to sit outside on her bench swing and listen to the birds singing. Her guilty pleasure was ice cream and ALL things sweet, especially chocolate desserts. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.
