Betty was born on Father’s Day in St. Louis, Missouri and moved to Phoenix in 1951. She married her husband of 52 years, Roy in December of 1959, having met him when she was secretary for the FAA working at the old Sky Harbor air traffic control tower while he was a fighter pilot with the Air National Guard.
Their union resulted in two children, Joyce (husband Darren) and Joe (partner Brendan). Upon the birth of her children Betty devoted her life to taking care of her home and excelled at sewing and quilting. Upon her husband’s retirement they moved first to Cornville, then Sedona, then Wickenburg where they enjoyed traveling, gardening, golf and entertaining the entire family which also included step children Dennis (wife Mary), Kelli and Joni.
Betty’s later years were spent surrounded by her family which grew to include grandchildren Amy, Beth, Jared, Jennifer, Christi and Josh. She was also blessed with five great-children.
Mom, you touched our lives in so many ways. We will forever miss the devotion you showed us each and every day. Breathe easy Mom, we love you.
