Bobby Dale Holley

Bobby Dale Holley, 65, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away peacefully of natural causes on August 16, 2025. Bobby was born on October 15, 1959, in Birmingham, Alabama. He lived a life marked by service, laughter, and deep devotion to family.

Bobby is survived and deeply missed by his loving wife of 46 years, Susan; daughter, Randi Cozad; son, James Holley; brother, Terry Beard; and sister, JoAnn Porter.

In late 1976, Bobby answered the call to serve his country by joining the Navy, later transitioning to the Army in early 1980. He faithfully served as a Military Police Officer until his retirement from the Armed Forces in 1995. He continued his civilian career in security, embodying the values of dedication and resilience learned throughout his military career.

In December 1978, Bobby married the love of his life, Susan. Together, they built a family, welcoming their daughter, Randi, in June 1981 and their son, James, in September 1984. When their children grew up and married, he became a loving Father-in-Law to Deven Cozad and Erica Holley. In October 2018, Bobby and Susan became proud grandparents to twins, Jonathan and Shelby, a role he thrived in.

Known for his sharp wit and logical mind, Bobby had a special gift for challenging others to see the world from new perspectives. Rather than providing ready-made solutions, he guided loved ones with wisdom and gentle encouragement, offering options and support without judgment. A lifelong enthusiast of fantasy, science fiction, and comedy—in any form—Bobby found joy in the stories that expanded his imagination and brought delight to those around him.

Bobby’s legacy is one of love, wisdom, and laughter. He took true joy in time spent with his family—meals, game nights, and long conversations. His deep, infectious belly laughs—often reducing others to happy tears—will echo in our memories forever. He will be deeply missed by all who have the honor of knowing him.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family asks that donations be made to your local Police Foundation.

At this time, no services will be held, as Bobby’s wish to be cremated has been granted. A Celebration of Life for Bobby will be held at a later date.
