He graduated from Gage Park High School and became an apprentice in the tool and die trade. He opened his own tool and die company, American Mold Corporation in the early 1970’s. In his leisure time, Charles enjoyed spending weekends at their family vacation home in Paddock Lake, Wisconsin. He also took his family on annual summer vacations in their RV across the United States. By the time his kids were in high school, they had visited every state in the US except Alaska and Hawaii. After Charles sold his company, he retired and moved to Apache Junction, AZ in 2005.
During his retirement, Charles traveled with his wife Judy. The two most memorable ones were driving their RV to Alaska with friends; followed by Africa for two weeks which included an African safari. Charles also took up the hobby of rock crawling. He had found his new passion and became so involved that he traveled to several states to compete each season. He loved the excitement of the sport and made many lifelong friends in the process. He was known for being one of the oldest competitors in the sport.
Charles always lived life to the fullest and loved helping others. His smile was infectious and he had quite a talent for making others laugh. He never met a stranger and was loved by so many people. He will continue to live on in so many hearts forever.
Charles is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judy, their children Chuck (spouse Lisa) and Debbie, and four grandchildren, Justin, Jessica, Samantha (spouse David), and Joshua.
A visitation for Charles will be held Saturday, February 15, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 400 South Power Road, Mesa, AZ 85206.
