Clara Ann Passaro passed away on December 29, 2012 in Mesa, Arizona. Born in Brooklyn, New York, to Angelo and Theresa (nee Manzi) Scorzelli, Clara arrived on April 3, 1921. A truly religious woman, Clara held tight to her Catholic faith. She carried that faith with her through-out her life. The rosary and novena were prayed daily. Clara could have been Mother Theresa with the strength of her faith. Her dedication to Saint Francis Cabrini was evident her naming her son after the Saint. She married the love of her life, Salvatore, on May 11, 1947 in Brooklyn. Together they spent 57 years loving each other. Salvatore preceded Clara in death 9 years ago. Clara was a family woman, her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren held her world. Her family loved to hear her stories, her tales were always flavored by her wonderful sense of humor. Watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren put a smile on her face. Food was a way to bring her family together, Clara excelled at baking cookies, and cheesecake. Her lasagna and meatballs were scrumptious. Bingo was a favorite past-time for Clara. She is survived by her loving children Frank Passaro and Alice Stec, son-in-law George Stec, daughter-in-law Michele Giovanniello, grandchildren Jaclyn Passaro, Brittany Passaro, Gregory Passaro, Lisa Gootman, and George Stec Jr., great grandchildren Abigail Gootman, and Matthew Gootman.
