With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Danny Peter Tepolt, who set sail on his final journey on January 29th, 2025, at the age of 79. A devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, widower, and friend, Danny’s life was one of hard work, deep love, and boundless adventure.
Danny was a man of his own making, forging a successful career as the proud owner of Dr. Dan’s Auto Repair. With grease-stained hands and a sharp mind, he built more than just engines—he built a reputation for honesty, skill, and dedication that will be remembered by all who turned to him in need.
Beyond the garage, Danny found his greatest joy on the water. An avid sailor, he was never happier than when the wind filled his sails, guiding him toward the horizon. The sea was his sanctuary, a place where he felt most at peace and free.
Danny was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Sherrie Anne Grey; his brother, Jerry Tepolt; his sister, Peggy; and his parents, Ruben and Verda Tepolt. He is survived by his daughter, Dianne Renee Shilling; his cherished granddaughters, Sienna Renee Hovenden and Heathyre Anne Watts; his great-grandson, Allister; his brother, Mickey Tepolt; his son-in-law, Dave Grey; and his lifelong best friend and chosen brother, Robert Marlowe. Each of them carries a piece of his legacy—his resilience, his wisdom, and the warmth of his unshakable love.
Though Danny has left this shore, his spirit sails on in the hearts of those who knew him. His laughter, his stories, and his unwavering loyalty will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Danny’s memory by taking a moment to appreciate the open sea, a well-tuned engine, or the simple joy of a job well done.
Fair winds and following seas, Danny. You are forever in our hearts.
