

She was born in Breckenridge, Minnesota on August 3, 1951 to Carl and Lorella "Lollie" (Berndt) Grob. She is survived by her son Patrick (Kate) Sweeney, granddaughter (Ruth) and her three siblings, Sandra (Larry) Thiele, David (Holly) Grob, Tom (Terri) Grob, her nieces and nephews, Carrie (Ty) Hanson, Chad Thiele, Carla Thiele, Rachel (Ben) Minks, Tom (Emma) Grob, Amber (Bob) Quick, Dak Grob, many great nieces and nephews, several great great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, many cousins and numerous wonderful friends. She loved and cared for her many relatives and friends who will miss her greatly.
After graduating from high school in Wahpeton, North Dakota, she moved to Arizona and attended Yavapai Community College in Prescott, Arizona, where she met her first husband, Mike Sweeney. They married and moved to Madrid, Spain, while Mike served in the Air Force. After living in Spain, they moved to Tucson, Arizona and gave birth to their son, Patrick.
Debra then lived in Mesa, Arizona, where she met her second husband, John Vogt. Before John died, they loved to travel, have meals with friends, and collect Apache tears in the desert. Debra was a loving wife and missed John dearly.
Debra knew that it was a greater blessing to give than receive. She loved to give homemade gifts to her loved ones and especially loved to sew cloth diapers for anyone having a baby. She was a loving mother, spouse, and sister. Debra also loved to garden and grow tomatoes, hike in the Superstition Mountains, cook, play banjo, attend church, and spend her time sewing, stitching blankets and quilting.
Preceding Debra in death are parents Carl/Lollie Grob and husband John Vogt.
Debra will be laid to rest near Great Bend, North Dakota on August 3, 2025 with an open house memorial for family and friends. Details to be shared at a later date.
