After her retirement, she traveled extensively across the U.S. and Canada in a fifth-wheel camper with her partner, Fred Kobler. In her later years she also was an avid line dancer, participating with a number of dance groups in the Mesa area.
Doris is survived by her two daughters, sister Teresa, nieces Sharon, Judy and Tammy, and nephews Bobby and Jimmy. She was preceded in death by Kobler and her brother, Normand.
There will be a celebration of life from 2 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, September 2, at the Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park at 6747 E. Broadway Rd. in Mesa. The family requests that all flowers and notes be sent to Mariposa Gardens, or that a donation be made in Doris’ name to the Arizona Humane Society.
