Dorothy Ellen Schafer of Mesa Arizona passed away peacefully on January 30, 2011 at the age of 84. Dorothy was born on July 24, 1926 in Bradish Nebraska. She was raised by her Grandma Barnett. On June 17, 1946 Dorothy married Lawrence Schafer and they were blessed with 4 children, Gale (Kay) Schafer, Bob (Debbie) Schafer, Ronnie (Lorella) Schafer, and Vickie (Paul) Boshat. In their early years Dorothy and Lawrence resided in Nebraska keeping busy on the farm and running several businesses they owned. Once moving to Arizona Dorothy was the President of Buff and Shine Janitorial. Dorothy leaves behind 4 children, 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and 2 great grandchildren on the way. A visitation for Dorothy will be held Thursday February 3, at 6:00 pm at Melcher Mortuary Mission Chapel, 6625 E Main St. Mesa, AZ. A funeral service honoring her life will be Friday February 4 at 10:30 am at First Lutheran Evangelical Church, 142 N. Date St. Mesa, AZ.
