

Eddie Joe Cason passed away on January 19, 2026, at the age of 74. He was born on March 15, 1951, in Port Hueneme, California to parents JoAnn (Wright) Cason and William Cason. During high school he was on the football team and graduated from Lompoc High School. In his younger years, Eddie grew up in California, enjoying surfing at Jalama Beach, camping with family, waterskiing behind his dad's boat on the Santa Ynez River, and fishing. He had a love for music, his favorites being the Beatles and later being Jimi Hendrix.
In 1981, Eddie visited Arizona and decided to stay there permanently. While visiting Casey Moore's Oyster House he met Lori Moats. Together they would would welcome their daughter Edie into the world in 1990. Continuing their happy life, they married on April 4, 1998.
Eddie worked as a blocklayer, a frame carpenter and a maintenance technician. For the past 13 years, Eddie worked for Villa Fiesta as the maintenance supervisor.
Eddie loved being a father and grandfather. Spending time with family brought him so much joy. He continued his love for fishing and music. In the past few years Eddie and Lori were able to visit Egypt, Turkey, Greece, Scandinavia and Iceland.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents; JoAnn and William Cason and his daughter; Christie Cason. He is survived by his loving wife; Lori Cason, daughter Edie Lira, granddaughters; Natalie and Lilyth Pablo, and sisters; Sandi (Sam) Cason Wilder, Teressa (Tom) Cason Hall and Toni Cason O'Neal.
A Celebration of life will be held in Eddie's honor on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Mariposa Gardens; 6747 E. Broadway Rd. Mesa, Arizona 85206.
