On September 6, 2022 Edna Rae Clark passed away peacefully in Arizona at the age of 88 just shy of her 89th birthday. Edna R. Clark was born to Raymond and Pauline Toohey. She was born in Cave City, Kentucky on September 23, 1933.
Edna grew up with seven siblings and after high school she went on to become an accomplished musician and singer with her sister Bette and they were named “The Toohey Sisters”. They were fortunate enough to tour with the Grand Ole Opry. Soon after, Edna met and married Raymond Anderson who was also a musician. They were married from 1956-1964, where they lived in Williston, North Dakota and had three beautiful children named Blaine, Brenda, and Gregory.
Along with becoming a beloved mother, she became a talented artist and painter. Her paintings reflect the great beauty of the Southwest Indian culture. Her art filled her home and brought much joy and love for those she was able to share it with. Edna also continued to find joy in creating music by playing several instruments as well as being a talented songwriter.
Later in life, Edna resided and remarried in Arizona to Ned Clark. They got to share 48 wonderful years together. Edna’s generous and kind spirit will live on in those who loved and knew her. She was quick witted and had a great sense of humor where she often made those around her smile and laugh. She loved her family and friends whole heartedly. She is survived by her husband Ned Clark, three children Blaine, Brenda and Greg Anderson and four grandchildren.
