

Edward was the first 1931 baby born in Sycamore on January 3rd. He was a 1949 graduate of Sycamore High School where he met his wife of 62 years, Elaine (Hintzsche) Borland.
During the Korean War, Edward served in the U.S. Army earning the National Defense Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal and the Korean Service Ribbon.
The longtime owners of Borland's TV on Somonauk and Elm in Sycamore, moved to Tempe, Arizona in 1985 to be with their children, Ross Borland and Patti (Borland) Wilemon. Edward was a devoted husband, father, partner and friend. He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren prosper and always encouraged and supported them. Ed and Elaine also enjoyed traveling the US as well as many trips abroad.
Edward was preceded in death by his father, Edward Borland Sr., mother, Mary Borland, sister Irene (Borland) Cramer, and wife Elaine (2014). He is survived by Ross, Patti, and granddaughters, Nicole and Natalie Wilemon.
A service will be held for family and friends on April 13, 2024 at the First Presbyterian Church, 161 N. Mesa Drive, Mesa, AZ. Service at 11:00 with lunch at 12:00.
In lieu of flowers, donations are being made to Hospice of the Valley (Phoenix, AZ).
