Edward David Diaz “Eddie”, born January 9, 1938 to Jose Y. Diaz and Elsie Diaz in Los Angeles, CA, passed away on August 2, 2014 in Gilbert, AZ at the age of 76. Eddie had a talent for decorating and designing homes and furniture. Along with his wife Annie, they had owned and operated Annie of California Handbags, where they designed and sold ladies handbags. Later in life, Eddie and Annie bought an AM/PM Convenience Store and Gas Station and ran that business for several years. Eddie was a loving husband, devoted father and cherished grandfather and great grandfather. His greatest joy in his later years was spending time with his grandchildren, whom he adored so much. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Rosie Rangel and is survived by his loving wife Annie Diaz; daughters Virginia Sanchez, Irene Diaz-Sainz, Christina Diaz, Delia Diaz, Sylvia Diaz, Danielle Diaz-Arzaga and Denise Richeal; his sisters Angie Chacon, Olivia Epps and Martha Diaz; grandchildren Lorraine, Francine, Alex, Sylvia, Natalie, Valerie, Jimmy, Eddie, Emily, Alicia, David, Christopher, Justin, Marissa, Emily and Zoe as well as eight great grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, August 8, 2014 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church 2654 E. Williams Field Rd, Gilbert, AZ. There will be a gathering after the Mass from 3:30 – 4:30pm at Mariposa Gardens Funeral Care 400 S Power Rd, Mesa, AZ with an interment immediately following at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park.
