

96, passed into eternal life after a brief illness on December 7, 2011. Elidia was born in Sonora, Arizona on October 10, 2015 to Vicente R Lopez and Mercedes Garcia in the mining town of Sonora, Arizona in Pinal County. She graduated from Ray High School in 1934. In 1940 she married Manuel “Cookie” Vanegas of Sonora, where they lived until 1958 when they moved to San Manuel. They lived there for twenty-six years and moved to Chandler in 1984. She is predeceased by her husband, her son Robert Vanegas, her three brothers, Arnoldo, Ronaldo and Osvaldo Lopez, and five sisters, Dora Angle, Amalia Mazy, Lilia Mendez, Otilia Solarez, and Ruby Estrada. She is survived by her sister Josephine Austin, her daughter Velma Corral (Ernest), her daughter-in-law Viola Vanegas, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren. Viewing will be from 3 p.m, rosary at 4 p.m. on Sunday December 11, 2011 at Lakeshore Mortuary, 1815 S. Dobson Rd., Mesa. Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m., St Timothy’s Catholic Church, 1730 W.
