Born in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, Larry carried with him the values and strong roots of his hometown throughout his life. He proudly served his country for 24 years in the United States Air Force, retiring with honor as a Senior Master Sergeant and wartime veteran. Following his distinguished military career, Larry continued his lifelong dedication to service as Facilities Management Director for Banner Health hospitals.
A passionate automotive enthusiast, Larry spent countless hours performing frame-up restorations of classic cars. With patience, skill, and artistry, he brought many prized vehicles back to life-several of which went on to earn awards and recognition. Beyond his love for cars and the classic car community, Larry devoted himself to philanthropy, volunteering at children's homes where he gave both his time and his heart to provide care, stability, and encouragement to young lives.
Those who knew Larry will remember his kindness, selflessness, and unwavering generosity.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Jody Greer; his son, Sean Greer; and his four beloved grandsons, Aaron, Eric, Terrance, and Evan Greer. He was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Greer, and his son, Gary Greer.
A celebration of Larry's life will be held on Saturday, September 6th, at 1:00 p.m. at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the many friends, extended family members, and caregivers who offered their love, care, and support to Larry and Jody. In lieu of flowers, a fund has been established to support the ongoing care of Jody's Alzheimer's journey. Contributions may be made through the QR code provided in the accompanying photos.
Larry will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In memory of my father, I am committed to continuing to provide the quality of life my dad worked so hard to provide my mom. Unfortunately, dementia has ravaged my family. In addition to my mother and father, my wife also has advanced dementia. While I can provide for my wife, these funds will go a long way to help my father care for his wife after death. https://gofund.me/d4657008
