Glenda Marie Baum Moyes, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and faithful servant of the Lord, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday February 15th, 2025, in Gilbert, Arizona, at the age of 74. Glenda was the eldest of four daughters, born on February 19, 1950, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Glenn Elwood Baum and Lennie Leone Dille,. She grew up on her grandfather’s farm, where she learned the values of hard work, faith, and family—principles that guided her throughout her life.
On August 16, 1968, she married her eternal companion, Dan Glen Moyes, in the Hazelton, Idaho, LDS Chapel. Their union was later solemnized in the Logan Utah Temple on July 17, 1979, sealing their family for time and all eternity. Together, they built a life rich in love, service, and adventure. As a military wife, Glenda supported Dan’s 21+ year service in the United States Air Force, which took them across the world. Among their many cherished experiences was their time in Panama, The Philippines, and Japan where their family grew, and they forged lifelong friendships.
Glenda devoted her life to her family and her faith. She was the loving mother of Derek (Jillian), Anne, Benjamin (Samantha), Joel (Orenda), and Jennifer, as well as the cherished foster mother of Vincent Paul Marshall (Amy). She found great joy in being a grandmother to 15 grandchildren and a great-grandmother to 6. Glenda’s greatest happiness was found in the success and well-being of her posterity. She chose to be happy, she chose to give love and kindness to all she met, and she lived indeed as a “Happy Camper”.
A gifted musician, Glenda shared her love of music as a piano teacher for over two decades and as a chorister and organist for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served diligently in many church callings, including Primary President, ministering sister, and Relief Society member, always striving to uplift and bless the lives of those around her. She found daily strength and inspiration in the scriptures and exemplified unwavering faith and Christlike service.
Glenda had a deep love for learning and was a voracious reader, though in later years, she adapted to audiobooks due to vision loss. Despite this challenge, she remained resilient, continuing to enrich her mind and spirit with literature and the words of the prophets.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Lennie Baum, and her foster son, Vincent Marshall. She is survived by her husband, Dan, her five children, 15 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and three sisters: Jannie Lambert, Carolyn Buttorff, and Laurie Baum.
A memorial service to celebrate Glenda’s life will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints chapel, 9431 E Point 22 Blvd, Mesa, Arizona 85212.
