Helen J McIntire

Helen was born on September 28, 1926 in Rochester, Minnesota to Fred and Alma Schoenfelder. She was raised in Rochester and graduated from Rochester High School in 1944. On October 22, 1944 she was married to Ward H. McIntire. They resided in Rochester with their 3 daughters: Barbara, Susan, and Terry. She worked for the Mayo Clinic for 24 years before retiring. Both Helen and Ward retired the same year and enjoyed traveling around the United States and Europe for several years before Ward passed away. She decided in 1992 to move to sunny, warm Arizona where her oldest daughter and family lived. She remained in Mesa until her death. Helen enjoyed traveling, researching family genealogy, cooking, sewing, and her Red Hat friends The Desert Darlings. She volunteered with Juvenile Justice in Arizona for many years.

Funeral Service in Mesa, Arizona will be held on 11-5-2020 at Mariposa Gardens. Visitation will be held from 12noon to 1pm followed immediately by memorial service and reception. There will be a time for sharing any remembrances of Helen, so bring photos or any fun stories to share. Due to Covid concerns and CDC guidelines we would request an RSVP by 10-31-2020 if you plan to attend the service at Mariposa Gardens in Mesa. Please RSVP to: [email protected]

Burial and celebration of life will be held in Rochester, MN at a later date, yet to be determined.
